Week of 10/12:  Safety & Logistics Focus

Students feeling ill/showing symptoms

  • Do not attend school if you or anyone in your home is ill or showing symptoms.
  • If a student has concerns about their health while at school, he/she should ask to see Mrs. Phillips in the nurse’s office.

Prior to returning to school:

  • Parents must have completed their students’ COVID self-certification and verification form by 10/28.
    • Students whose parents have not completed their student’s COVID self-certification will not be allowed in the building. 
    • Do not attend school in person if you or anyone at your home is experiencing any symptoms of COVID19.
  • Masks must be worn at all times
  • Please sanitize your hands when entering the building.  Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the building.

Entering the building:

  • Student parking will only be available in the square by the tennis courts & the spaces on the East side of the football field.  Parking on the hill and in the main parking lot in front of the building will not be available to students.
  • Students will enter through doors as they are assigned based on how they travel to school:
    • Bus riders enter through door E3 (cafeteria doors)
    • Drivers enter through door N2 (Health room doors)
    • Drop-offs enter through door E2 (main doors)
  • Students should proceed directly to their first-hour classroom unless they have breakfast to pick up from the cafeteria.

Hallway Mobilization

  • The hallways will be divided in half.
  • Students and Staff will walk on the right side of the hallway.
  • If a student or staff member needs to enter a room on the left side of the hallway, they need to wait until there is a safe gap to cross traffic, then they can cross to the room.
  • Students and staff will wear a mask while in the hallways.

Stairway Designations

  • Stairways will have directional designations.  Students and staff should follow the directions indicated for each stairway in the building.

Halls Between Classes

  • Students should move quickly through the hallways to their next destination. 
  • Please do not cluster in the hallways; move to your next class and take your seat once you arrive.
  • Signage will help direct traffic and provide general guidance.  Please make sure to always follow the directional signs for hallways and stairways.

Clean up before and after class

  • Staff will clean desks after each class period dismisses.  


  • Students will not have lockers.  Plan to use your backpack throughout the day.


  • Students are expected to have their masks on at all times.  Students may take their masks off outside as long as they are 6ft apart.
  • Students and staff may pull masks down quickly for a drink of water but they must be promptly returned to the appropriate position.


  • Students may use the bathroom during passing periods or during class time, but we want to limit it as much as possible to keep the crowds down. 
  • (1) Blue and (2) Teal hallway bathrooms, the bathroom by the (3) library, and the (4) south cafeteria bathroom will be the only bathrooms available to students.  
  • Bathrooms will be limited to half capacity.  Bathroom capacity will be indicated via signage on each bathroom.
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned during the first 5 minutes of each period so will be inaccessible.

Leaving the school

  • At the end of the school day, students need to promptly go to their vehicle, bus, or ride with their masks on while maintaining social distancing as best as possible.   Students can exit any door that is not alarmed.

Water Bottles

  • Only bottle fillers will be available; students will not be able to use drinking fountains (they have been disabled). Students will be able to bring in their own water bottles to fill them up as needed.

Breakfast & Lunch

  • Breakfast for eligible students will be provided by the foodservice.
  • Lunch options will be grab and go at the end of the day.
    • At the three different exits, there will be tables with bags for lunches 
  • No food deliveries (Doordash, grubhub, Jimmy Johns, pizza, etc.) will be allowed at this time.  Delivery drivers will be turned away at the door.
  • Students that bring snacks from home will be required to eat them in designated areas in the cafeteria during passing period.


  • Students are expected to bring their charged Chromebook every day.
  • All students must have a pair of headphones compatible with their Chromebook.


  • Attendance will be taken daily in Infinite Campus.  Remote students will use the IC self-check process we are using now.  In-person students will be counted based on their in-person attendance.
  • Attendance will be marked for every school day (both in-person and e-learning).  Students MUST check in via Infinite Campus for each class even during asynchronous learning activities. 

Learning Time & Workload  -Hybrid and All-Remote Students

  • Students will be expected to engage in daily learning experiences for each of their classes regardless of their schedule designation. 
  • Regardless of their schedule designation, students should still plan to complete both synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
  • Students can expect to complete approximately 1-1.5 hours of work per class (including the time spent in the class itself).  
  • Similar to the regular school year, students may be required to complete homework beyond the scheduled class periods.
  • Teachers are planning lessons and activities with the extraordinary circumstances we are currently living in in mind.  If you are having difficulty completing your assignments in a timely manner, please work with your teacher.
