This course builds upon the mastery of foundational structures and vocabulary from Spanish I through III. Students will comprehend the language through reading and listening activities as well as produce the language by speaking and writing. The following thematic units will be covered: personal and public identities, families and communities, beauty and aesthetics, global issues and challenges, STEM, contemporary life, communications and media, and career connections. These units empower students to communicate on topics that are universal to the human experience and better prepare them for global citizenship. Comprehensible intermediate to advanced level Spanish is used in instruction and students are expected to refrain from the English language.  The successful completion Spanish IV is one factor for student eligibility for the Seal of Bi-literacy.
