All students interested in a winter sport might wish to consider bowling. SHS has had very successful bowling teams over the past few years.

The baseball team has three levels - Freshmen, Sophomore, and Varsity. We play 30-35 games each season.
The Sycamore Boys Basketball Program is looking for hard working, male student-athletes that want the opportunity to play basketball at a highly competitive level and build on the success of the basketball program.
If you like to run and are interested in being part of a team, this is the sport for you. This sport is based on endurance and distance running, not short distance or speed.
The Boy’s soccer team has a rich history of success and a tradition of excellence with many athletes continuing to play beyond high school. The program offers an opportunity for athletes to build their soccer skills in a competitive environment, while building relationships with fellow classmates.
Sycamore co-ops with DeKalb High School to offer swimming; we offer two levels of competition (Junior Varsity and Varsity) and welcome all ability levels.
If you are interested in a fun-filled season of running and many other events, come out for Boys’ Track. We practice every day during the spring season that we do not have a meet. All are welcome!
The Cheerleading squad is selected through try-outs in the spring. Two different seasons are offered. The squads compete at various state and regional competitions throughout the year.
The SHS Dance Team is a team selected at try-outs in the spring of each year. Members are selected from all grade levels. The girls are committed for an entire year since they attend camps, perform in parades, and participate in various competitions.
If you are interested in being a part of a competitive football conference, plan on joining Sycamore High School’s football team. The team has a no-cut policy that ensures involvement as a player.
Lady Spartan Basketball is open to all interested girls. There are 3 levels: Freshmen A/B, Sophomore, and Varsity. The season runs from the end of October until the middle of February.

The softball program has three levels: Freshman, Sophomore, and Varsity. Each level plays 35 games. The season runs from the first week of March until the end of May.

Girls’ Tennis is a competitive fall activity. Both Varsity and Freshmen/Sophomore levels provide openings for three singles and four doubles positions, as does Conference.
If you want to be in a team sport as well as an individual sport, girls’ track is for you! By participating in girls’ track, you can see your improvements individually while helping the team as a whole. All girls are welcomed (no-cut policy).
Sycamore High School volleyball has now expanded to three levels of competition, which include Freshmen, Sophomore, and Varsity level volleyball teams. Our season runs mid-August through the last week of October.
The golf team allows you to play some excellent golf courses and to compete against some good golf teams. Some experience if preferred.
In the past, sycamore has been proud to have one of the top wrestling teams and programs in the state. The Spartan Wrestling Team has been conference champion, regional champions, and ranked 8th in the state in the past years.
