Amanda Jamrog Named Rotary Student of the Month

Sycamore Community School District 427 congratulates Sycamore High School’s (SHS) Amanda Jamrog for being named December Rotary Student of the Month.

Jamrog began her time with the district at West Elementary School. Now at SHS, Jamrog serves as editor-in-chief of the Yearbook and was a Fall Varsity Cheerleading Co-Captain. Jamrog is also involved in Spanish Club, National Honors Society, Journalism Club, and Orchesis.

History is what Jamrog names her greatest passion. “History allows us to learn every step our world took to create the society we live in today, and knowing that can help us make the right decisions in the future,” said Jamrog.

Upon graduation from SHS, she plans to obtain a degree in history to become a history teacher — and eventually a college history professor. Jamrog’s desire to learn is her greatest strength, and she said, “I hope that when I become a teacher in the future, I can instill my love for learning on the next generation.”

Congratulations, Amanda!
