Another distinguished alumnus in the history of Sycamore High School is David Juday! Dave was born and raised in Sycamore and remained here his entire life! Dave and his wife, Suzanne, were blessed with four children and nine grandchildren and they still live in rural Sycamore.

After graduating from Sycamore High School in 1962, Dave continued his education with undergraduate work at Shimer College and graduate work at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

In 1972 he began his career at IDEAL Industries, whose headquarters is located in Sycamore but they have facilities and customers all over the world. Since joining the IDEAL Industries family, Dave has had many jobs including manufacturing, IT, sales and marketing. Dave became the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of IDEAL Industries in 1984; titles he held until 1999. At the time of his induction into the Sycamore High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame, Dave held the position of Chairman of IDEAL.

Dave also knows the importance of community service. He has served on numerous boards in the area and held several titles on these boards, such as:

Dave was a 10-year member of the Illinois State Board of Education and also served on the Sycamore Board of Education; which shows he is a man that knows the importance of educating our children. This is why Dave worked closely with the local schools in the development of the Senior Business Leadership Academy to assist students in exploring career paths in the business world as they transition from high school to the work world. Dave doesn’t judge a person by the certificate or degree on their wall but by their work ethic, integrity and initiative!
